  • Fair-Trade Coffee

Delicate and distinctive in flavour. This coffee Combines soft notes of chocolate with citric over tones therefore adding fruitiness whilst giving natural sweetness.

Puro Coffee Beans come from Fairtrade Cooperatives located in South America. The Beans are roasted by Miko Coffee, established in 1801. Finally they are distributed in Ireland by us The Coffee Company. We here at The Coffee Company are a local family run business. We are passionate about coffee and above all Fairtrade, Organic Coffee.  Puro is so unique and special. It is not just high quality 100% Arabica. Or both organic and Fairtrade. It also directly and positively impacts the conservation of rainforest around the world. Every cup of Puro Organic Coffee helps to save our rainforests.

ORGANIC FAIRTRADE COFFEE PRODUCERS:

  • PERU

Cooperativa Agraria Norandino formerly CEPICAFE, are found in the region of Piura, coffee here is grown at 1800m above sea level by 6,600 smallholder producers who hand pick the beans in June-October, wash, clean by hand and then sun dry their harvest.

  • HONDURAS

COSAGUAL & COCAFCAL are positioned in the mountains in Western Honduras and coffee is grown at 1200-1700m above sea level by smallholder coffee producers who hand pick the beans in November-February, wash, clean by hand and then sun dry their harvest.

NB. Climate change, harvests, politics, economics and many other factors demand that from time to time we need to also source coffee from other Fairtrade certified co-operatives in these countries.

TEAGUEIA PUROANA

Discovered by Lou Jost

Teagueia puroana, named after Puro, grows on the low branches and trunks of isolated, small trees. It differs in appearance from its relatives by its petals and sepals that taper to a long point.

Both species were discovered and live within the protected habitat of our Puro Rainforest Reserve in Ecuador. Watch this short video to find out more.
